Appearance is important. It will make other persons much more willing to learn more about one who is good looking, from his outside to inside. If one is ugly looking, he will lose chances in early stage since few people are interested in getting to know more about him, no matter how nice he really is. But appearance can not the only one. The surface appealing could not last long since appearance fades easily. If one could not finally make others turn to realize and get attracted by his insides( personality, capability, wisdom, etc) or contributions, he could be replaced easily.

I  think appearance is important to an actor or  actress!!  If he is  handsome ,most people will be addicted in him whether in the movies or in his real life .However ,one,handsome ,with kind heart,manners at the same time ,he will  be in the public 's heart  forever.Honestly,I  fell in love with TIK at my first sight. I fancinated by his wonderful appearance . But  I am caputured by TIK completely by his personality!

But he do act really well and I like him. So, it really depend on the acting skills. If someone's really handsome but act so badly, I still won't have the interest to finish the watching. ( another example: Danise Wu(korean actor)

<P>I agree with this. But it not always be the case. Good looking can attract people to get know this person for the first time but if he/she cannot act well the audience won't be interested in it and not watch it if they see the name for the second time. Some actor may not be attractive on looking but they act really well, then the audience will like him finally. (The gold will finally shine!) an example: Chinese actor Li Youbin, a 40-50years old man without an attractive face, but he act so well(particularly in &lt;亮剑liang jian&gt; (show the sword)，so he is still be liked by many people.</P>

male's handsomeness means a lot to me :-) :-) I can be easily attracted by a male's face, especially his eyes.- so YES, handsome is important.
